Thursday 5th January 2012
There was a howling wind all night last night, and for the last couple of days we have suffered like Dorothy in Kansas. Though I will refrain from hoping that a house lands on an old Witch in Mid Beds (Or Narnia as it is known in the Twittersphere). I do not function too well in high winds, feeling edgy and anxious. I do not sleep well either, particularly when Mrs Plug deems it a good idea to spend all her sleeping time teaching me how to ride horses rather than actually sleeping like all sensible people. I spent today getting all my invoicing system up to date with 2012 dates etc, and found that I only just managed to get everything done in time for the evening sessions. Both of them went pretty well, and thankfully, they all seemed to come back. Even five years down the line, I find it surprising that everyone comes back. I wonder when that will ever change? Eldest is getting all of her personal statements and application forms together for Drama School applications, so I spent some of the evening editing and making suggestions about that. I then started work on the spec for the Play/Project that starts next week. By the time I finished it was bedtime. The decorations have come down finally, and it feels like we can move on. I used to hate that feeling as a child, but now I find it rather refreshing. I can have a slightly less stressful day tomorrow I hope, and get more other stuff done. This weekend will be a working weekend as well, though I hope I can have a bit more reading time. I am rather hooked on the David Mitchell (Not that one) book already, so thank you Mr Pops for the recommendation.
