Sunday 15th January
We slept in until lunchtime, which annoys me, as it limits what I can write about by about 50%. We did, in our defence, have a few drinks last night, and it was quite a late night by the time we returned, and, I am knocking on a bit now. I did manage to get some work done today, in preparation for my day at school tomorrow, and by the time I got to bed, I felt that I was at least part of the way prepared for the day. I am still nervous about the year threes, who seem so very young compared to last year. I am sure it will all be fine, but I just want them to have a good time and to get as much out of it as possible. We have a very busy week to look forward to with various meetings and rehearsals to complete, and some outstanding tasks that I have been putting off, but as yet, there is no real sense of doom. We continue with the mainly vegetarian diet as well, which is all rather enjoyable. Today, I made a vegetarian curry as the ravenous bloodthirsty child was eating at her friends house. It then transpired that she wasn't eating at her friends house. She clearly looked upset at the idea of not having any meat, so I ordered a meat dish from the local takeaway, because I am a lovely father. When I went down to collect it however, I found myself explaining and almost apologising for the rather tiny and insignificant order. I may as well have just said "I'm not sad and lonely you know". I told myself off when I got back, and then cheered myself up by watching Sherlock, and remaining slightly superior by thinking it is not quite as good as everyone is saying. Next week I intend to get back up to date on reading, and to make a start on the original Danish version of "The Killing", which is apparently about Murder and knitwear.
